What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution to replacing missing teeth. They are the nearest thing to feeling like natural teeth. The implants are placed in the jaw and act as a replacement for a tooth root. You would normally have either a crown, bridge or denture fixed to the top of the implant.
Implants have a success rate of over 95%.
What are the advantages?
The advantages of dental implants are that they are fixed in the mouth. In other words, you don’t need to take them out like a denture. This means that you will be able to eat and speak more naturally and you don’t have to worry about them falling out! They also help to provide support for your remaining teeth.
What does the treatment involve?
Initially, the implant dentist would carry out a detailed assessment of your teeth and determine how suitable you are for the implants. The next step is to arrange an appointment for implant placement. This is a pain free procedure and is carried out under local anaesthetic, just like a filling and most other dental procedures. You then wait for 3 to 6 months for the implant to integrate. Your last appointment would be to fix a crown or denture to the top of the implant.
How much does it cost?
The cost of an implant varies depending on a number of factors, however the total price of a single implant (including the crown on top) starts from £2,495. The initial consultation appointment is £95. We also have interest free finance options available.
