What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution to replacing missing teeth. They are the nearest thing to feeling like natural teeth. The implants are placed in the jaw and act as a replacement for a tooth root. You would normally have either a crown, bridge or denture fixed to the top of the implant.

What does the treatment involve?
Initially, the implant dentist would carry out a detailed assessment of your teeth and determine how suitable you are for the implants. The next step is to arrange an appointment for implant placement. This is a pain free procedure and is carried out under local anaesthetic, just like a filling and most other dental procedures. You then wait for 3 to 6 months for the implant to integrate. Your last appointment would be to fix a crown or denture to the top of the implant.
